Cloud Protection – Encryption for Microsoft® SharePoint® and for Online Storage
The encryption of documents, which are shared among distributed teams using collaboration tools like Microsoft® SharePoint® or which are stored in the Cloud using, for instance, Microsoft® SkyDrive is the aim of the module Cloud Protection of fideAS® file enterprise. No matter whether Microsoft® SharePoint® is operated on-site or as Software-as-a-Service in the Cloud, the keys to the kingdom always remain in the hands of the data owner. Hence, compliance requirements can be met easily.
Cloud Protection for Microsoft® SharePoint®
Teams working together using the highly popular collaboration tool Microsoft® SharePoint can use Cloud Protection to exchange sensitive documents without fear of prying eyes. Cloud Protection encrypts all documents automatically before they leave the users workplace and are stored in the SharePoint database stored in encrypted form. Cloud Protection also encrypts all locally checked out copies and the complete version history of the integrated document management syste of Microsoft® SharePoint®. Cloud Protection works smoothly with the other modules of fideAS® file enterprise, such that particularly sensitive SharePoint® documents can be protected on an even higher level.
Cloud Protection for online storage
Online storage like, for instance, Microsoft® SkyDrive is cheap and offers a lot of storage space in the Cloud. Cloud Protection encrypts sensitive documents stored in online storage spaces, provided that this space can be accessed via the WebDAV protocol.
